Lieutenant English began his career with the
Carrollton Fire Department in July of 1995 as a
firefighter. He was promoted to the rank of
driver/engineer in 1997 and to the rank of
Lieutenant in 2004.
Lieutenant English has attended classes at the
Georgia Fire Academy, the National fire Academy,
Dobbins Air Force base, other governmental
agencies, and West Central Technical College.
Prior to coming to the Carrollton Fire Department,
Lieutenant English Graduated from the Southern
polytechnic State University, Marietta Georgia
with a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering Technology.
Lieutenant English is a member of the Georgia
State Firefighters Association and the West
Georgia Regional
HAZ/MAT
team, where he assist in training other members.
Some of Lieutenant English’s qualifications
include, Chemistry of Hazardous Materials
incidents, weapons of mass destruction awareness
for the law enforcement executive, certified
Georgia State firefighter, National Professional
HAZ/MAT technician, national registry EMT, CPR and
First Aid instructor, Heart Saver
AED,
Apparatus Driver/Engineer, Public Fire and Life
Safety Educator, Cameo Windows, basic fire
prevention inspections, arson detection for the
first responder, radiological emergency response,
radiological emergency management, waste isolation
pilot program (radiological), emergency vehicle
operations, and pre-hospital management of
traumatic brain injuries.
Lieutenant English is married to his wife Melanie,
and they have two children, Katrin and Ally.
