Lieutenant Rooks began his career as a
firefighter with the Carrollton Fire Department
in January of 1981. Lt. Rooks was quickly
assigned to the position of driver/engineer and
later to Lieutenant. He is currently assigned
to Engine Co. #23.
Lt. Rooks is a Georgia State Certified Fire
Officer, National Registry EMT, National
Professional Qualified HAZ/MAT Technician, CPR
and First Aid Instructor, basic Fire Adjunct
Instructor, and P.O.S.T. certified in advanced
arson investigation.
Throughout his career, Lt. Rooks has attended
many management, in-service, live fire training,
district fire schools, and tactical operations
courses. He also has specialized training in
emergency response to terrorism, pre-hospital
management of traumatic brain injuries, L.P. gas
work shops, infectious disease control,
emergency vehicle operations, radiological waste
isolation pilot program, and special
supplemental inflatable restraint systems.
Lt. Rooks also works part-time for Haralson
County Fire Department on Engine #5.
