Driver/Engineer Shadrix began his career as a
firefighter with the Haralson County Fire
Department as a volunteer. In 1995, Brian
became the second paid firefighter in Haralson
County’s history. He also served there as
Operations Chief until he joined the Carrollton
Fire Department in October of 1997. Brian
Shadrix was promoted to the rank of
Driver/Engineer on April 18th, 2007.
Some of Firefighter Shadrix’s qualifications
include Georgia State Certified Firefighter,
National Professional Qualified HAZ/MAT
Technician, National Registry EMT, and CPR/First
Aid Instructor.
He also has specialized training in emergency
vehicle operations, relief driver for the ladder
truck and fire engine, fire suppression rating
schedule, pressurized container fire control,
structural fire control, interior search and
rescue, community wild land fire defense, fire
arson detection, high angle rope rescue, rescue
specialist, trench rescue, initial response to
terrorism, infectious disease control,
pre-hospital management of traumatic brain
injuries, pump service testing, crash victim
extrication, building construction for the fire
service wood and ordinary, introduction to
emergency management, special supplemental
restraint systems, Cameo Dos (chemical data
base), radiological emergency response and
management. Brian received his rope rescue technician certification in 2005.
Brian is a native of
Bremen,
Georgia
and a 1989 honor graduate of Bremen High
School. He also served 4 years in the United
States Army. He is currently assigned to Ladder
#21. He has been married to Kimberly for 15
years and they have two sons, Justin and
Andrew.
