Firefighter Richey began his career as a firefighter with the Carrollton Fire Department on November 2, 1996. He is a State of Georgia Certified Firefighter, National Registry EMT and National Professional Qualified Haz/Mat Technician. 

Firefighter Richey also has training in confined space rescue, pressurized container fire control, vehicle extrication, structural fire control, radiological emergency response and management, flammable liquids, fire control, emergency vehicle operations, relief engine driver, CPR/First Aid, vehicle fire investigations, infections disease control, pre-hospital management of traumatic brain injuries, emergency response to radiological transportation accidents, and emergency response to terrorism basic concepts.
