Firefighter Brown began his career as a firefighter with the City of Carrollton fire department in June of 1996. Prior to joining the Carrollton fire department, Jay served as a volunteer firefighter with Carroll County Fire/Rescue, and continues to volunteer on his time off. 

Jay is a Georgia State Certified EMT, National Professional Qualified HAZ/MAT Technician, Public Fire Safety Educator, and has training in emergency vehicle operations. He has additional training in pre-hospital management of traumatic brain injuries, emergency response to terrorism, radiological response and waste isolation pilot programs (radiological). 

Firefighter Brown is a member of the Georgia State Firefighters Association and West Georgia Regional HAZ/MAT team. He is a member of Mt. View Baptist Church, where he serves as director of Men’s Ministries. Jay Is happily married to his wife Candace, and they have a son, Jacob.
