Firefighter Walton began his career as a firefighter with the Haralson County Fire Department in 1983 as a volunteer.  He joined the Carrollton Fire Department in 1996.  He is a State Certified Firefighter, Georgia EMT and a National Professional HAZ/MAT Technician.  He also has training in emergency vehicle operations, CPR and First Aid, radiological emergency response, radiological emergency management and pre-hospital management of traumatic brain injuries.  Richard was named Carrollton’s Firefighter of The Year in 1998. 

Richard is a 1983 graduate of Haralson County High School.  He is a member of the Georgia State Firefighters Association and West Georgia Regional HAZ/MAT Team.
