Lieutenant Sanders began his career as a firefighter with the Carrollton Fire Department in 1990.  Lt. Sanders quickly advanced to Driver/Engineer and then to the rank of Lieutenant.  He is currently assigned to Engine Co. #22. 

Lt. Sanders is a State of Georgia Certified Fire Officer, EMT Intermediate, National Professional Qualified HAZ/MAT Technician, First Responder Instructor, and CPR/First Aid Instructor. 

Lt. Sanders also has specialized training in crash victim extrication, rescue specialist, arson detection, emergency response to terrorism, emergency vehicle operations, special supplemental inflatable restraint systems, hazardous materials chlorine emergency response, radiological emergency response and management, and pre-hospital management of traumatic brain injuries. 

Throughout his career Lt. Sanders has attended many in-service schools, district live fire schools, tactical operations courses and management courses.
